Read here about my private day tours of Rio de Janeiro.

Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon are the neighborhoods to be at daytime. However, at nighttime, you risk of ending up in a touristic restaurant packed with tourists. If you don’t mind that, just a few steps from your hotel you will find a place to satisfy you. But if you flew all the way to Rio to experience the real Rio’s nightlife by eating Brazilian food and watching a local music concert where locals dance and sing Brazilian songs then I might have the right tour for you.

Monday Night Program:

Forró Live Concert

forro-5.jpg

It is an opportunity to eat Northeastern typical food, to watch couples dancing forró and a band playing live – all at the same time.

Departure from hotel: 8:30 p.m

Return to hotel: 11:30 p.m. (or before that as you wish)

Age range: all ages but mostly young

Dress code: casual, light (flip flops or sandals allowed)

Your expenses: Food and drink (a nice dish per person averages 20 USD)

Note: Forró is a type of music/dance originally from the Northeast and that recently became popular and trendy in Rio.

Tuesday Night Program:

Live Karaokê Concert

What about showing off your singing talents on the stage accompanied by a live band? If you freak out by this idea even after a few drinks you can just watch me and other locals fighting our fears singing Brazilian as well as international songs.

You can also have dinner or tapas there in the meantime.

Departure from hotel: 8:30 p.m

Return to hotel: 11:30 p.m. (or before that as you wish)

Age range: mostly young

Dress code: casual (flip flops or sandals NOT allowed)

Your expenses: Food and drink (a nice dish per person averages 20 USD).

Wednesday Night Program:

Live Samba Concert

samba1.jpg

Open air club where samba lovers go to listen to live samba band and sing classic samba songs. It is a chance to see the popular class enjoying a night out with little comfort – pretty much the Brazilian way. It is contagious. Since the place sells hardly any food, I take you for dinner at a typical restaurant before going there.

Departure from hotel: 8:30 p.m

Return to hotel: 11:30 p.m. (or before that as you wish)

Age range: all ages

Dress code: casual (flip flops or sandals allowed)

Your expenses: Food and drink (a nice dish per person averages 20 USD).

Note: If you want a finer place instead of a popular one you can replace it by the Thursday’s one.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday Night Program:

Live Samba Concert

nightlife1.jpg

A samba night at a 19th century 3-storey building creatively decorated with antiques all over the place. It is probably the best and the finest place in Rio de Janeiro to watch a samba concert. A must. You can also have dinner or tapas there.

Departure from hotel: 8:30 p.m

Return to hotel: 11:30 p.m. (or before that as you wish)

Age range: all ages

Dress code: casual or dressed up (flip flops or sandals allowed)

Your expenses: Food and drink (a nice dish per person averages 20 USD).

Sunday Night Program:

Live Samba Concert

couples-dancing-band-playing.jpg

It is the same place that we would be going on Monday but instead of a Forró band you will watch a Samba band. As mentioned above it is an opportunity to eat Northeastern typical food.

Departure from hotel: 8:30 p.m

Return to hotel: 11:30 p.m. (or before that as you wish)

Age range: all ages

Dress code: casual, light (flip flops or sandals allowed)

Your expenses: Food and drink (a nice dish per person averages 15 USD).

Concerts at Any Day of The Week

Bossa Nova

bossa-nova4.jpg

You can replace any of the evenings above for a live Bossa Nova concert. I can take you for dinner around 8 p.m. any evening of the week and then take you to a place to see a band playing Bossa Nova live (at 10 p.m.). Dinner will cost you around 20 USD and the concert around 20 USD.

Folklorique Show

folk-show.jpg

You can replace any of the evenings above for a Brazilian Folklorique Show. Do not expect locals in the audience. It is a show formatted to give tourists a musical overview of the Brazilian richness. It is full of lights, dances, songs, drums, customs and luxury. The most impressive part is the Capoeira. I can take you for dinner around 8 p.m. and take you to the show that starts at 10 p.m. and lasts one hour and a half.

Departure from hotel: 7:30 p.m

Return to hotel: 11:30 p.m.

Age range: all ages

Dress code: casual, light, dressed up

Your expenses: entrance fee (85 USD). Food and drink (a nice dish per person averages 20 USD).

The rates for Day & Evening may not apply in the two options above. Please drop me a mail to confirm rates.
