There are 13 public holidays in Rio de Janeiro, roughly an average of one per month. July and August have none. On the other hand, November alone has three!

May 1 – Labor Day

June 3 – Corpus Christ

September 7
– Independence Day

October 12 – Our Lady of Aparecida, Patron Saint of Brazil (also children’s day)

November 2 – All Souls Day

November 15 – Proclamation of the Republic Day

November 20 – Zumbi (Black People Consciousness)

December 25 – Christmas Day
